Taylor suited for 200 Quickplay rating

200 graphic

In a marathon evening of Quickplay chess not one , not two but three rounds were played with the winner of the competition being decided.

Firstly I played Brian Donnelly and despite getting excellent chances in the first game fell easy prey in the second and was despatched 2-0.

Then Anthony Higgs took on Brian and after a couple of fascinating tussles eventually won through 2-0.

The final now took place with Anthony and Paul Taylor playing some interesting tactical struggles. First they drew, then they drew ...and again..and again before finally Paul was able to out trick Anthony to an impressive victory. So Paul won 2 1/2 to Anthony's 1 1/2

Given that Paul has already beaten Mike Forster in an earlier round it looks likely he is heading for a quickplay rating of over 200! Watch our for the new gradings shortly..

I have to say this led to some excellent chess and would prove a good model for this competition in future years

Thoroughly well deserved as I should have lost game 2 and scrambled a draw then by a swindle. A worthy winner.
