Amy Hoare is British Women's Champion!

The British Championship finished today after 11 rounds, and Amy's excellent performance saw her take the British and English Womens Champion titles, as well as the U18 British Girls Champion title too!

Amy scored three wins and three draws against tough opposition, and also improved her FIDE rating. Most importantly she now has a big trophy to show off! There will apparently be something in the local press soon so keep your eyes peeled...

Full details are at the Championship website here: http://britishchesschampionships.co.uk/ (and the above photo is by John Upham from round 4)

Well done Amy from all at HCC!

And to think Amy hasn't beaten me yet (2 draws) - mind you that was about 6 years ago when Amy was arouud 12 years old and I was hanging on by my fingernails on both occassions - still that's my claim to fame and I'm sticking to it!! Great news.
