The Guildford FIDE Congress was held over the weekend at the University of Surrey campus. It was a very impressive competition, superbly well organised and highly recommended to all.
We all put put on solid performances - Ian Comley and Phil Stimpson scored 3/5, Rob McDonald and Bob Lanzer 2.5/5, Jordy Savill 2/5.
The star of the show was undoubtedly Chris Heath who scored 4.5/5 only dropping a half point by taking a bye in the interests of marital harmony. His performance rating was an incredible 2564 so an absolutely outstanding performance! Congratulations for a fine result.

Monkeys writing Shakespeare
Given my appalling season so far, particularly for Horsham 2, this reminds me of monkeys writing Shakespeare. As an aside, my performance rating, if indeed correctly calculated (?) suggests a ludicrous anomaly in the system...but if that gives me 15 minutes of fame, I'm not complaining!
