London Chess Festival - 14 October 2012

This is different from the now familiar London Chess Classic.

The Festival, as the website (chess.spectator.co.uk) makes clear, is not a tournament per se. Rather it is an afternoon event comprising a range of activities (lectures, hands-on coaching, playing for fun etc culminating in a simul against Ray Keene).

It will be spread across six venues inside the Royal Geographical Society, Kensington, London with a series of lectures (including one from Lewes' Dominic Lawson) and exhibition games in the main Lecture Hall and 10 other activities repeating through the afternoon. It is being held on the afternoon of Sunday, 14 October at The Royal Geographical Society, London.

Apparently places are limited – and only a certain number can play. Prices are £10 for a child, £29 for basic ticket (excluding the Keene simul), and £69 for premium ticket (including the Keene simul).

Now if I can just persuade my wife I don't need to decorate the bathroom that Sunday ....
