The John Cannon Cup

We have acquired a magnificent new trophy in honour of John Cannon who served the club over so many decades. The Cannon family have generously contributed this superb cup and agreed the criteria we will use to award it.

We will award this each year at the discretion of the Chairman and it will go to the person who achieved something special that year. In previous years we had members who have won the Ladies ECF championship , captains who went down to Brighton to pick up the opposition, we have had players make enormous improvements in grading, members who won congresses, played some of the greatest number of matches in the country and stalwarts who just keep the club ticking over. We have a very talented set of members!

I am intending to reach out for nominations towards the end of each season so look out for that to come..

In the meantime I have added a picture but it is so incredibly shiny that it was difficult to do it justice.
