Horsham Players top performance in MSCL

Matt Forster has scored an amazing 7/7 to jointly share the top performance in the Mid Sussex League...well done to him and also to Roger Waddingham who achieved 8.5/11.

Mike Forster wins Knockout

Congratulations to Mike Forster for winning the Knockout. After an initial draw with Anthony Higgs he was successful at the second attempt and picks up the Knockout trophy. Mike won the Knockout plate last year so he is building up an excellent track record in this event!

Congratulations to Anthony Higgs who can not be caught in the Rook now.

Congratulations also to Paul Richardson for winning the Knight which secures him promotion to the Bishop for next season.

HJCC juniors in winning Sussex team

HJCC members Matthew Forster and Oliver Thorne were part of the winning Sussex team at the EPSCA Under 11 finals in Nottingham.

Paul Taylor wins Lightning

Another great evening with some howling errors (mainly mine) and some attacking chess. Anthony Higgs achieved 6.5/7 but still had to have a play off with Phil Stimpson - with Phil going through to the final to play Paul Taylor.

In an exciting couple of games Paul finally won to make him champion!
