e2e4 Gatwick International

Five Horsham players took part in this very well organised event.

I grew up playing chess in cold church halls and buying curled ham sandwiches swigged down with tepid tea but this was very different with plush carpet, ample room and excellent playing conditions. Hosted at the Crowne Plaza Hotel there was first class food to sustain the players through the ardours of the tournament and there was something appealing about a bar dominated by 30 players analysing their games.

Gatwick Congress : 19-21 February 2016

We return to Crowne Plaze, Gatwick - one of the best e2e4 locations - for our first weekend of chess in 2016.

We have three FIDE rated sections on offer, so there is sure to be a section for you.

e2e4 are back in the locality very soon, running the Gatwick International between 26th-30th October and the Gatwick Congress between 1st-3rd November, both at the Crowne Plaza Hotel...

This FIDE event is running at Gatwick right now - it is close enough to pop along or if you prefer you can follow online. 10 games will be fed through to the internet so you can follow games from your own home (or smartphone for that matter!).
