In a crucial Division 2 match, Horsham 3 lost to the Argumentatives last Tuesday 3 - 2. This leaves both teams towards the foot of the table with 2 points each and 2 games to play. The only win came from The Args top board, Peter Farr graded185. The remaining 4 games were drawn. Full result:

Last Wednesday we headed over to Uckfield to face their 1st team which was always going to be much tougher than their 2nd.
Update : Dix agrees a draw on top board bringing the final result to 4 - 1 in our favour....
Apologies for the late report - Horsham 1 beat Worthing 2 away this time last week which puts us 2nd with three matches to play...
Worthing 1 visited us on Tuesday and inflicted our only loss so far. The visitors fielded their strongest possible lineup and beat us 3-2 in a close match...
In awful weather conditions we made our Friday night excursion to Eastbourne,where we met highly graded opponents,who gave us a sound beating.
All games were still going after 2 hours – showing a valiant fighting spirit – but we were material down in every game.
Richard Moorhouse gained us our only score – shortly before Chris Heath finally resigned as time was called.
My thanks to all players, especially the drivers, who met driving wind and rain, hidden water deluges and road closures and diversions on the way home.

Unfortunately Uckfield were not able to field a full team for this match which gave us a 2 game lead but we still needed at least the one game, you never know...
The ECF has released the new grades on their website, Horsham members are listed below...
We were able to field a very strong Horsham 2 team on Thursday - so strong in fact that the captain was not able to play ;)

In previous seasons Horsham have had to face Brighton in the first round of the McArthur Cup and have progressed no further. This year we had to visit their venue but to face a different team - Woodpushers...
